This work is a chronological record of 150 sunsets during 2012. The tree—a female Kentucky coffeetree—looks dead, but fills with leaves and fruit, then bares its twigs again. Behind is St. Luke’s Hospital, where I was born. Evening skies are brilliantly clear, full of gloriously colored clouds or obscured by storms or smoke. This tree, like so many of the runners, dog-walkers, and cyclists who use Eagle Ridge Trail, came from elsewhere, put down roots, and thrived. Perhaps it was planted on the Military Reserve by a soldier who immigrated to Boise after the Civil War.
Archival quality prints are available: pigment ink on acid-free bamboo paper, double archival mat with linen tape hinge, protective photo corners.
